About Goat Gestation Calculator

The Goat Gestation Calculator turns a single breeding date into an exact due date and a full, dated kidding plan - free, in your browser, with nothing to install.

What this tool does

Most goat due-date tools stop at one date. Ours goes further: enter the breeding (or exposure) date and pick the breed, and you get the estimated kidding date, the normal 145–155 day window, and an auto-generated management timeline - pregnancy confirmation, steaming up, the CDT vaccination, herd separation and the kidding watch - every milestone dated from day zero. You can print it or add it to your calendar.

How we calculate

Gestation length is set from commonly cited breed averages: about 150 days for standard and dairy breeds, and nearer 145 for miniatures such as Nigerian Dwarf and Pygmy. The due date is simply the breeding date plus that length, with the surrounding window drawn from the breed’s realistic range. Every date uses leap-year-safe arithmetic, so a plan that crosses 29 February stays correct. If your vet advises a different length for a particular doe, you can override the number by hand.

Who it’s for

Homesteaders with a doe or two, and larger herds that need every service date tracked without manual counting. Everything runs client-side - no account, no data leaves your device.

Important

This calculator provides educational estimates only. Gestation varies with breed, litter size, doe age and condition, and individual variation. It is not a veterinary diagnosis. For any health decision, always consult a licensed veterinarian. Questions or corrections? Get in touch.
